How funds are distributed
Note:You are responsible for complying with any applicable local fundraising laws.
When you want to raise money for charities in Australia, Canada, or the UK, you will create a fundraiser for PPGF. PPGF is a registered charity in all of those countries.
When your friends donate to your fundraiser for a charity that receives funds through PPGF, the money goes to PPGF. PPGF then gives the money to that charity based on the policies in Canada, and the United Kingdom.
When you donate to a charity on Facebook, 100% of funds go to the charity.
Enrollment eligibility and country policy
Charities can enroll with PayPal Giving Fund. Enrollment is free. Eligibility is based on the policies in each country.
Learn more about enrollment eligibility in Australia, Canada, Ireland, and the UK.
Charities don’t have to be enrolled with PPGF to be eligible to receive grants. Learn more about how PPGF identifies eligible charities.
When funds are granted to charities
  • Charities enrolled with PPGF: Paid out for donations within 45 days of the original donation on Facebook. Payouts are issued around the end of each month.
  • Charities not enrolled with PPGF: Receive grants by cheque within 90 days of the original donation on Facebook.
  • Emergency response: When there’s a natural disaster, humanitarian crisis, or other events that need urgent action, PPGF may try to speed up grant payments to charities working on relief and recovery for those events. Note: Certain checks they carry out to protect donated funds are mandated by regulations and take time to complete.
  • When funds cannot be granted: If PPGF cannot grant funds to the charity you recommend, then we'll reach out to you before reassigning the funds to a similar cause when possible. Learn more about this process in PPGF's policies for Australia, Ireland, Canada and the United Kingdom.
